About Us
The Illinois Retirement Security Initiative is a project of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability. Working with its partners on the Steering Committee and Advisory Council, the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability created the Illinois Retirement Security Initiative to address retirement security, formulate policy proposals and advocate for solutions to fix our pension funding problem.
Mission
The goal of the Illinois Retirement Security Initiative is to ensure public retirement benefits in the state of Illinois are adequately funded and designed to attract high quality public service providers to the public sector. The Initiative will research, educate and advocate for public policies toward that end.
Structure
The Illinois Retirement Security Initiative is a project of the Center for Tax and Budget Accountability.
CBTA's IRSI Steering Committee reccommends Initiative activities and raises the resources necessary to carry out those activities.
Organizations and individuals supportive of the IRSI mission are invited to publicly endorse the Initiative by signing up for Action Alerts. Endorsers will be kept informed of and encouraged to participate in Initiative activities.
Endorsers willing to provide additional resources to the Initiative may be invited to participate in the Initiative’s Advisory Council. The Advisory Council provides advice and guidance on the activities undertaken by the Initiative.
